Director, Access Technology Vanderbilt University Medical Center
McKinney currently serves as the Director of Access Technology at Vanderbilt University
Medical Center (VUMC). He is responsible
for leading the technology initiates that optimize patients, employees and
referring providers ability to efficiently facilitate patients timely access to
care. Previously, he served as the Administrative Director of Care Connections,
responsible for the operations of the 250-staffed centralized call center for
many of the clinical areas at VUMC.
joining Vanderbilt, Ryzell served at Northwestern Medicine in Chicago for 20
years. While at Northwestern, he served
at a HMO Coordinator, Internal Medicine Operations Supervisor, Manager of
Managed Care Operations, and Practice Manager for Medical Sub-Specialties. He finally served at the Director, Patient
Access Services where moved the organization from a de-centralized call center
model to a consolidated and centrally located call center.
presently a board member of two not-for-profit organizations, the Torchbearers
Foundation (Treasurer) located in Maywood, Illinois and the First of All
Foundation, located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Both organizations focus on
providing resources for youth in the areas of mentoring, scholarship, training
joining Northwestern, Ryzell served in the United States Air Force. He earned
his Bachelor’s Degree from Park University and his Master’s Degree from North
